I AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE LOWEST/BEST
BID FOR AVERY PARK IMPROVEMENTS, AUTHORIZING
THE MANAGER AND FINANCE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE
A CONTRACT, AMENDING THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS
AND, DECLARING AN EMERCENCY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to required advertising, bids have been received for Avery
Park improvements and;
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid and selected Alternates
from Strawser Paving Company in the amount of $ 139',907.44
is the lowest/best bid: .'

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Dublin, State
of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring:
SECTI ON 1. That the base bid and selected Alternates 6f Strawser Paving Co.
for Avery Park improvements in accordance with specifications on file in
the office of the Manager be, and hereby is, accepted.
I SECTION 2. That the Village Manager and the Finance Director be, and they
hereby are authorized and directed to execute a contract with the said
Strawser Paving Company for these improvements.
SECTION J. That the 'Finance Director be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to appropriate funds from the unappropriated balance in the General
Fund for said improvements, thereby increasing the appropriation for Capital
Improvements (A1-3B-251) by the amount of $_ 139,907.44 .
SECTI ON 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure for
the preservation of the public peace, health and safety and for the further
reason that these improvements should be initiated and completed at the
earliest possible date and, therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force immediately u~on its passage.

SUBJECT: Re: Avery Park Improvement Bids
In addition to those items listed on the attached sheet, bidders also sub.
mi tted an alternate bid for "full depth asphal t" on the roadway and parking
area, but in all cases this bid was higher than the specification for 8"
of stone plus 2%" of asphalt in the General Contract.
Other alternates not selected were:
1. Modify and eliminate the existing entrance and relocate the sign. ( Parks
& Rec. saw no reason to do this).
2. Purchase and placement of 152 concrete bumper blocks.
3. Lighting for another ball-diamond, which if selected, would make the total
exceed the $170,000 appropriated and therefore was not selected.
-I Items were reviewed by both Mrs. Saylor' and Mr. Speer and they concurred with
the recommendation attached hereto.
