A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE "WATERCOURSE PLAN FOR COLUMBUS
AND FRANKLIN COUNTY".
0 WHEREAS, the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission adopted
the Franklin County Comprehensive Plan on December 17, 1969,
and thereby established a goal of preserv i ng land for open
space by utilizing the flood plains branching throughout the
urban area, and
WHEREAS, the communities of Franklin County were requested
to provide letter s of su pport for an app I i cat i on by the C'i t y
of Columbus, Recreation and Parks Department, to obtain fund-
ing for a Watercourse study of Franklin County, and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus, Recreation and Parks Depart-
ment was awarded a grant by the National Endowment of the
Arts under its City Edges program, and received further fin-
ancial assistance from the Franklin County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, the "Watercourse Plan for Columbus and Franklin Coun-
ty" has been completed by the consultants, Labrenz-Riemer Inc.
and the Ohio State University's School of Architecture, Div-
ision of Landscape Architects, and
WHEREAS, the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission hosted a
[ Seminar on May 29, 1975 to accquaint community representatives
with the Watercourse Plan, and
WHEREAS, the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission adopted the
Watercourse Plan on July 17, 1975 and has certified a co,y of
said Plan to this municipality in accordance with Section 713-24
of the Revised Code, and
WHEREAS, the Ohio Revised Code, Section 713-25, provides that the
Planning Commission of any municipal corporation to which a reg-
ional or county plan is certified under Section 713-24 of the
Revised Code, may adopt such plan, and it shall thereupon have
the same force within such municipal corporation as is provided
by law or charter for plans prepared and adopted by the local
planning commission:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Counc i I of the V i II age
of Dublin, State of Ohio,~of the elected members concurring:
SECTION I. That it hereby adopts the "Watercourse Plan for
Columbus and Franklin County"
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in
force from and after the earliest period a lowed by
