A RESOLUTION REQUESTING CERTIFICATION OF THE
VILLAGE OF DUBLIN BUILDING DEPARTMENT TO EN-
U FORCE THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the present Bui Iding Department of the Vi I lage has
matured and progressed to the point that it ought to seek State
of Ohio certification to enforce the Administrative Code of
the Ohio Board of Sui Iding Standards, and
- WHEREAS, it is desireable and important to to the safety and
welfare of the inhabitants of the Vi I lage to have a duly cert-
if i ed bu i I ding inspection department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Counci I of the Vi I lage of
Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring
that:
SECTION .L. That the Vi I lage Engineer and bui Iding inspector be
and hereby are authorized to pursue certification of the Dublin
Rui Iding Department by the Ohio Department of Industrial Relati ns,
Board of Sui Iding Standards to enable the department to enforce
the Administrative Code.
~ SECTION 2. That the Ohio Department of Industrial Relations,
Board of Bui Iding Standards are requested to accept an authen-
ticated copy of this Resolution along with a completed appl ication
as the Vi I lage of Dubl in's request for certification of the
Dubl in Sui Iding Department to enable the Department to enforce
the State of Ohio Administrative Code for Sui Iding Standards.
SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergen y
measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the publ ic
health, safety and welfare, therefore, this Resolution shal I
take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.

We are preparing an appl ication to the State to have our
Pui Iding Department certified to review plans and inspect
construction of apartments, commercial, industrial, and
most institutional type bui Idings. The app I i cat i on form
requires that the Vi I lage pass a resolution requesting
such certification.
To this end, a resolution has been prepared for Counc i I
consideration.
