A RESOLUTION TO DECLARE, AND MAKE, THORNHILL LANE A DEAD-
END STREET AT THE PRESENT INTERSECTION WITH HAYDEN RUN ROAD.

'-- WHEREAS, a petition has been received from a vast majority of
the residents of Thornhill Lane requesting said dead-end closure,
and,
WHEREAS, Council is of the opinion that said Thornhill Lane should
be made a dead end street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of
Dublin, State of Ohio, j1 of the elected members concurring:
I SECTION 1. That Thornhill Lane is hereby declared to be classified
as a dead-end street and the Village Manager is hereby directed
to take the necessary action required to construct a barrier with
appropriate signage to accomplish said dead-ending. 1

SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force
from and after the earliest period allowed by law.

Dave Younger, Columbus Traffic Engineering, has advised us
that the residents of Thornhill Drive have petitioned the
Village of Dublin to cul-de-sac their street just north of
Hayden Run Road.
We have no objection to this change. We have shown on the
",... attached sheet where you could place the guardrail so that
it would be outside the work limits. of the widening project.
~ The remaining pavement would be removed and the area graded
and re-seeded as part of the widening of Hayden Run Road.
Please advise us in writing if these changes should be made
in the plans. Otherwise, we will assume that a Thornhill
Drive/Hayden Run Road connection will remain. If you have
any questions, please call Greg Evans at 222-7395.

Gentlemen:
The enclosed petition is submitted for your consideration.
All residents and land owners on Thornhill lane have signed
and thereby indicated their desire for this improvement ex-
cept Prout, Gantner, Miller and Vlahos. Mrs. Prout, a widow,
has moved and the house is vacant and for sale. The Gantners
are preparing to sell and move to Florida. The Vlahos lo~ on
the east side of Thornhill lane at Hayden Run, is vacant.
Please notify me when this petition will be considered by
Counci 1 . Should you have any questions at any time, do not
hesitate to call.

""". We, the undersigned, all residents and property owners on Thornhill lane,
Dublin, Ohio, reqJest that Thornhill lane be made a dead end street at the
.. present intersection with Hayden Run R0ad. We suggest this change be made
concurrent with the planned improvement of Hayden Run Road between the
Scioto River and Dublin Road and the replacement of the Hayden Run Road
bridge over the Scioto River.
This request is made for the following reasons:
1} Thornhill lane is less than 430 feet from Dublin Road. Direct
access to Hayden Run Road is not needed by the residents of
Thornhill Lane.
2) Excessive traffic on Thornhill Lane presently results due to
motorists using Thornhill lane to avoid the traffic signal at
Hayden Run and Dublin Roads. As the area west of Dublin Road,
which recently was annexed to Columbus, is developed, this
traffic flow on Thornhill Lane will increase.
3) The elimination of this intersection (Thornhill lane and Hayden .
Run Road) will remove a potentially dangerous situation created
by motorists entering Hayden Run Road from Thornhill Lane.
4) Thornhill lane is a narrow, curved, residential street unsuited
to through traffic.
