A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE
1989 COTA LEVY
WHEREAS, the Committee to Keep Franklin County Moving has joined
together individuals and organizations from throughout Franklin
County to encourage the passage of the COTA levy on the November 7,
1989 ballot; and
WHEREAS, the COTA levy will provide funds to retain the only public
transportation system in Central Ohio, enabling thousands of citizens
access to dependable transportation to their places of employment and
provide the only means of independence for older adults, working
youngsters and persons with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, the staggering cost of time lost from work and the hardship
of persons isolated from performing their daily tasks of independent
living far outweighs the cost of a good transportation system
NOW, THEREFORE BE 16 ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring do resolve
to support the COTA levy on the November 7, 1989 ballot and urge
our citizens to retain the public transportation system in Central
Ohio.
