RESOLUTION TO THE FRANKLIN COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS IN SUPPORT
OF THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Ohio General Assembly has enacted, and the Governor has
signed, Amended House Bill 592 requiring all counties in the State of
Ohio to form or be a part of a Solid Waste Management District by
March 24, 1989; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Chapter 343 and Section 3734.52,
the Franklin County Commissioners established the Solid Waste Management
District through adoption of Resolution Number 1462-88, dated November
29, 1988; and,
WHEREAS, the Franklin County Commissioners proposed the formation of
the Franklin County Regional Solid Waste Management Authority through
Resolution No. 1520-88, dated December 13, 1988; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of all the citizens of Franklin
County that the disposal and other management of solid waste within
Franklin County be performed by a regional authority and for all of
the citizens of Franklin County to be fully represented and to participate
therein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the City Council endorses formation of the Franklin
County Regional Solid Waste Management Authority by the Franklin County
Commissioners.
Section 2. That the Regional Solid Waste Management Authority Board of
Trustees include suburban municipality representation.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
immediately transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to the Franklin
County Administrator's Office.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
adoption.
