Hansley, City Manager SUBJECT: Extension of Depository Designation DATE: July 26, 1993 INITIATED BY: Marsha I. Grigsby, Director of Finance \~~ In October 1991, City Council adopted Resolution No. 15-91 designating Bank One, Columbus as the City's depository for active funds for a period of two (2) years commencing on November 1, 1991. The Resolution also provided that the depository agreement contain a renewal clause that would allow the City to extend the depository period for one (1) additional year. The Administration is satisfied with service provided by Bank One and is requesting that City Council approve the attached Resolution to extend the depository designation for a period of one (1) year. It is the Administration's intent to prepare a Request For Proposal (RFP) prior to recommending a depository designation for the period commencing November 1, 1994. Bank One, Columbus was selected as the preferred depository as a result of a similiar process two (2) years ago. It is our inent to modify the RFP to require the financial institutions to address areas that can be tied to our economic development plan, look at alternative fee methods for Visa/MasterCard and to highlight banking services that are available and not currently utilized by the City. 201 :93
