HEARING ON PETITION TO ANNEX 106.486:t ACRES IN
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP TO THE CITY OF DUBLIN, OHIO
BY DOROTHY THOMAS, ET AL.
FIXED FOR WEDNESDAY, MARCH 4, 1998 AT 10:00 A.M.

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Franklin County, Ohio, are
presented the petition for annexation of certain adjacent territory to the City of Dublin, Ohio,
filed by Dorothy Thomas, et aI., signed by Dorothy Thomas and Gary K. Moreland for
National City Bank, Columbus, Trustee of the William Marvin Thomas Trust and appointing
Christopher T. Cline, as agent for the said territory being described as follows:
Real Estate situated in Washington Township of Franklin County, Ohio, in the
Virginia Military Survey Number 3453, being a more particular description of the 107.338
acre tract (less the current right-of-way of Shier-Rings Road) of National City Bank, Trustee
of the William Marvin Thomas Trust & Dorothy Thomas (Deed Reference
199706040014429) and being further bounded and described as follows:
Beginning for reference at a Franklin County monument box found (FCGS 7752) at
the centerline intersection of Eitennan Road (County Road 41) and Shier-Rings Road
(County Road 42);
Thence North 81 deg. 34' 43" East, 949.52 feet along said centerline of Shier-Rings
Road to a railroad spike set at the northeast comer of the 16.158 acre tract of William K.
Southworth (Deed Book 2367, Page 383);
Thence South 09 deg. 20' 36" East, 25.00 feet along the east line of said 16.158 acre
tract (passing over an iron pipe found at 24.38 feet) to a point on the existing south right-of-
way of said Shier-Rings Road being the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING:
Thence North 81 deg. 34' 43" East, 1484.37 feet along said right-of-way of Shiet..
Rings Road to a concrete post found on the west line of the 34.295 acre tract of the Board of
Education, Dublin Local School District and City of Dublin, Ohio (Official Record 11693,
A05);
Thence South 07 deg. aT 26" East, 1096.48 feet along said west line, the approximate
line between said V.M.S. 3453 and V.M.S. 3004 and the current west line of Dublin
Corporation Limits (as established by Ordinance 9-70, Misc. Rec. Vol. 149-507) to a concrete
post founp at the northwest comer of the 37.938 acre tract of Anacleto Galli (Official Record
32125, G09);
Thence with two consecutive courses of said 37.938 acre tract, said approximate
V.M.S. line and said west Dublin Corporation Line:
1) South 09 deg. 20' 08" East, 545.92 feet to an iron pipe found;
2) South 09 deg. la' 33" East, 1242.04 feet to an iron pipe set at an angle point in the
original centerline of Woerner & Temple Road (Township Road 160), said iron
pipe set also being the northeast comer of the original 60 acre tract of Swickard
Enterprises, Inc. (Official Record 16313 J 14);

Thence South 80 deg. 00' 08" West, 362.97 feet along a vacated portion of said
centerline of Woerner & Temple Road to an iron pipe set at the most easterly corner of the
0.966 acre tract of the Franklin County Commissioners (Official Record 07497 Al3);
Thence with two consecutive courses of the north line of said 0.966 acre tract (being
the current northerly right-of-way of said Woerner & Temple Road):
1) Along the arc of a curve to the left, having a radius of 302.84 feet, an arc length of
135.94 feet, and the chord of which bears: North 87 deg. 08' 19" West, 134.80
feet to an iron pipe set. Said iron pipe set is 30.00 feet northerly and radial to ,.
Franklin County monument box FCGS 6631 found;
2) South 80 deg. 00' 08" West, 1314.72 feet to an iron pipe set on the east line of the
original 65.52 acre tract of Advantage Six Company (Official Record 04285 C03).
Said iron pipe set is witnessed by Franklin County monument box FCGS 6630
which bears: South 09 deg 48' 30" East, 30.00 feet;
Thence North 09 deg. 48' 30" West, 1227.72 feet along said east line of original 65.52
acre tract to an iron pipe found on the south line of aforesaid 16.158 acre tract of William K.
Southworth;
Thence with two consecutive courses of said 16.158 acre tract:
1) North 80 deg. 15' 30" East, 381.30 feet to an iron pipe set;
2) North 09 deg. 20' 36" West, 1667.83 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
Bearing South 81 deg. 02' 55" West assumed from the centerline of Woerner &
Temple Road between FCGS 4438 & FCGS 4437 (The tract as described from an actual
field survey perfonned on or about May 9, 1997 (revised December 31, 1997), by Registered
Surveyor Joseph P. Priday. (S-7277)), contains 106.486 acres, more or less, subject to all
previous easements and rights-of-way of record.
WHEREAS, together with a map of said territory accompanying said petition filed
with the Board of County Commissioners, Franklin County, Ohio, on January 2, 1998, be and
the same are hereby filed in the Office of the County Auditor;
WHEREAS, the Ohio Revised Code in Section 709.031 stipulates that the County
Commissioners can ask the County Engineer for a report on the accuracy of the map or plat;
now, therefore, upon the motion of Commissioner Teater , seconded by
Commissioner Stokes

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF FRANKLIN
COUNTY, OHIO:
Section 1. That a hearing upon said petition shall be held in the County Commissioners'
Hearing Room, 26th Floor of the Franklin County, Courthouse at 10:00 A.M. on March 4,
1998; and;
Section 2. That the Zoning Director to the Board of County Commissioners be and hereby is
directed to notify the agent of the petitioners of the time and place of said hearing; and
Section 3. That the map or plat of Dorothy Thomas, et at. is hereby referred to the County
Engineer of Franklin County, Ohio, for the checking of its accuracy of description.

A RESOLUTION TO APPROPRIATE A 1.029 ACRE, MORE OR
LESS, FEE SIMPLE INTEREST IN PROPERTY OWNED BY
DANIEL F. HUNTER, JR. AND FRANCIS L. HUNTER,
LOCATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF DUBLIN CENTER DRIVE AND
THE NORTH SIDE OF MARTIN ROAD, IN THE CITY OF
DUBLIN, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO.
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin intends to improve Krier Drive,
Dublin Center Drive and the Martin Road intersection; and
WHEREAS, said improvement will require the City of Dublin to
obtain a fee simple interest, in and to the premises described
in the attached Exhibit "A" located in the City of Dublin,
Franklin County, Ohio.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEi/bY the Council, of the City of
Dublin, State of Ohio, of the elected members
concurring that:
Section 1. Council considers it necessary and declares its
intention to appropriate, for the purpose of improving Krier
Drive, Dublin Center Drive and the Martin Road intersection,
a fee simple interest in and to the premises located in the
City of Dublin, Franklin County, Ohio, and more fully
described in the legal description attached hereto as Exhibit
"A".
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to cause
written notice of the passage of this Resolution to be served
upon the owners and persons in possession or having an
interest of record in the above-described property. This
notice shall be served according to law.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be In
force from and after the earliest date permitted by law.

DESCRIPTION OF RIGHT-OF-WA Y FOR DUBLIN CENTER DRIVE
Situated in the state of Ohio, County of Franklin, City of Dublin and being a part of Lot 1,
qumter township 3, township 2 North, Range 19 West, United States Military Lands, and being a
1.029 acre tract conveyed to Daniel F. Hunter, Jr. and Francis L. Hunter in Volume 1957, page
152, Recorder's Office, Franklin County, Ohio and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a railroad spike found at the centerline intersection of Sawmill Road and
Martin Road;
Thence North 840 30' 00" West with the centerline of Martin Road, a distance of
1096.0 I feet to a railroad spike set and the true point of beginning at the southwest corner
of the parcel herein described;
Thence North 060 07' 34" East, a distance of 449.15 feet to an iron pin set, passing an
iron pin found at 29.43 feet in the North right-of-way line of Martin Road;
Thence South 840 22' 05" East, a distance of 100.06 feet to an iron pin found;
Thence South 060 11' 51" West, a distance of 448.93 feet to the centerline of Martin
Road, passing an iron pin found at 419.95 feet in the North right-of-way of Martin Road;
Thence North 84030' 00" West with the centerline of Martin Road, 99.50 feet to the true
point of beginning.
The basis of bearing for this description is based on the centerline of Martin Road as recorded in
O.R. 13506, Page J-19 and is North 84030'00" West.
It is calculated that the above contains a total of 1.029acres including the road which occupies
0.067 acres, more or less.
This description is based on a field survey of the property in July of 1997 under the direction and
supervision of Jonathan Hardbarger, Ohio Registered Surveyor No. 7687.
