A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE COTA LEVY ON THE ji " " NOVEMBER 7, 1995 BALLOT, ij Ii AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY i: Ii I " II WHEREAS, the Citizens for Better Transit has joined together individuals and :1 i: organizations from throughout Franklin County to encourage the passage of the " I, i COTA levy on the November 7 ballot; and I! WHEREAS, the COTA levy will provide funds to retain the only public I I transportation system in Central Ohio, enabling thousands of citizens to have " II access to dependable transportation to their places of employment, and providing ii the only means of independence for older adults, working youngsters and persons , I, with disabilities; and ii d I! WHEREAS, the staggering cost of time lost from work and the hardship of persons isolated from performing their daily tasks of independent living far outweighs the cost of a good transportation system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, 2- of the elected members concurring that: Section 1. We hereby endorse the COTA levy on the November 7, 1995 ballot and urge all citizens to retain the public transportation system in Central Ohio. Section 2. This resolution is declared to be an emergency measure for the health, I safety and welfare of the residents of this City and therefore, this resolution shall be effective upon passage.
