A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO FILE AN APPLICATION AND ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING FUNDS THROUGH THE
DIVISION OF FORESTRY'S URBAN FORESTRY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the quality of urban life is enhanced by the proper
management of the urban forest resource; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin recognizes the importance of
providing tree and shrub related benefits to its citizens; and
WHEREAS, funding for the purchase, installation and care of
trees and other urban vegetation is available through the Ohio
Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Council of the city of
Dublin, State of Ohio, 7 members concurring that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for
and, if awarded, enter into agreement with the Department to
administer a grant to implement said program, and that the
city Manager is authorized to sign said agreement.
Section 2. The City of Dublin hereby requests the Department
of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry, to consider and
fund its application project.
Section 3. This Resolution be and the same hereby is declared
to be an emergency measure necessary for the public health,
safety and welfare, and for the further reason that the grant
deadline is January 13, 1995, and therefore the resolution
shall take effect and be in force immediately upon passage.

RE: SBA Tree Planting Grant

The City of Dublin is seeking grant funds from the U.S. Small Business Administration
to install 235 trees at Cosgray Park, which is currently undeveloped.
Total cost to purchase and plant the trees are estimated to be $37,230.00. Of this, the
City is requesting $21,695.00 in grant money from the Small Business Administration. The
City's cost share match consists of $15,535.00 to be spent towards the purchase and installation
of the trees, and $6,161.00 to administer the project and to maintain the planting for a one year
period. Of the $15,535.00, approximately $8,000.00 will come from the 1995 Cosgray
development monies (if approved) and the remainder will need to be funded in 1996.
