A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING APRIL 16 THROUGH APRIL 24
EARTHWEEK IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN, OHIO,
... AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
. WHEREAS, environmental awareness is critically important for
Dublin citizens of all ages; and
WHEREAS, the City strives to be a leader in environmental
awareness and sensitivity; and
WHEREAS, we are all learners interacting with others and the
environment in a lifelong process; and
WHEREAS, environmental awareness includes the appreciation and
wonder of the natural world, the understanding of the wise use
of the world's and Ohio's natural resources, and the
development of positive attitudes and skills required to
participate intelligently in environmental decision making;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin, Dublin City Schools, Washington
Township, the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio, and
Ashland Chemical will be sponsoring activities throughout
Earthweek to increase the level of environmental awareness and
provide opportunities for citizens to take action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Dublin, State of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring
that:

Section 1. April 16 through April 24, 1994 is hereby
designated "Earthweek" in Dublin. All citizens are urged to
observe this week by reviewing past accomplishments which have
been environmentally sensitive and take part in the many
planned activities that will occur during Earthweek.
Section 2. This resolution is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure necessary for the public health, safety and
welfare, and therefore shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
