I A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO APPROPRIATE A FEE SIMPLE l-~
Ii INTEREST IN A 0.3875 ACRE +/- PARCEL OWNED BY I
DUBLIN MARATHON SERVICE COMPANY, LOCATED ON THE
WEST SIDE OF HIGH STREET AND SOUTH SIDE OF BRIDGE
i[ STREET, IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, I
ii STATE OF OHIO, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. I

'I WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has undertaken various studies and I
;i plans over the years regarding the enhancement and strategic I
ire-development of the Old Dublin Historic Area; and, I
'I I
ii WHEREAS, Dublin City Council has adopted goals which I
il specifically established as a public policy, the enhancement, I
ii protection and strategic re-development of this unique I
: historic area; and, ,
i i
,I I
Ii WHEREAS, Dublin City Council has previously enacted Resolution I
I Number 21-95, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit I
il "A", wherein it found that the subject property as one of two :
'I service stations located at the intersection of Bridge street
ii and High street within the City of Dublin, represents a use of
il property inconsistent with the long term enhancement and
:1 viability of the Old Dublin Historic Area and that said uses
II can have a blighting effect on the long term viability of the
i! surrounding areas; and,

il' WHEREAS, Council, in Resolution 21-95 determined that
I acquisi tion of the subj ect property was among the highest
II community development objectives of the City for the purpose
il of enhancement of the historic area, community definition,
il downtown re-development and to encourage additional private
:i investment throughout the entire Old Dublin Historic Area;

II WHEREAS, the aforementioned objectives require the City to I
:1 obtain a fee simple interest in the entire 0.3875 acre +/_
II premises more fully described in the attached Exhibits "B" and
II "C", located in the City of Dublin, Franklin County, Ohio.

'III NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council, of the City of
I Dublin,. state of Ohio, rr of the elected members
i concurr1ng that:
I Section 1. Council considers it necessary and declares its
I intention to appropriate for the purpose of improving the Old
Dublin Historic Area and for the reasons specified in the
I whereas clauses set forth above, a fee simple interest in the
: 0.3875 acre +/- premises located in the City of Dublin,
I Franklin County, Ohio and more fully described in the legal
I descriptions attached hereto as Exhibits "B" and "C".

i Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to cause I
I' written notice of the passage of this resolution to be served
I upon the owners and persons in possession or having an
i interest of record in the above-described property. This
I notice shall be served according to law.
