Auburn Associates, as expressed in resolution 7-94, and II [ I il WHEREAS, said study identified as one of the community's highest economic i !I development priorities the retention and expansion of existing Dublin-based companies, and ij ii :I WHEREAS, Dublin City Council recognizes the vital importance of enhancing and II I, preserving the City's commercial property tax base, and il ii II WHEREAS, Dublin City Council recognizes the public benefit of developing strategies II to continue to improve the business climate of the city and helping existing businesses ,i to remain competitive and expand their current levels of operation within the City, and i! II II WHEREAS, Dublin City Council formally authorized the implementation of a 'I !I II cooperative Business Retention and Expansion Program by the City of Dublin and the " Dublin Chamber of Commerce as expressed in resolution 5-95, and il Ii II WHEREAS, the City of Dublin and the Dublin Chamber of Commerce have co- Il ,I :1 sponsored a Dublin Economic Development Partnership which has served to develop The 'I i[ Retention and Expansion Final Report, and I! I! II WHEREAS, Dublin City Council believes that the implementation of the objectives of Ii the Business Retention and Expansion Program is of critical importance to the economic II health and well-being of the Dublin community; Ii il NOW, THtREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State il 'I of Ohio, of the elected members concurring: Ii ! I Section 1. That Dublin City Council hereby reaffirms its commitment to continue a I cooperative public/private partnership with the Dublin Chamber of Commerce to jointly i I undertake economic development efforts that are beneficial to the City, and I II Section 2. That Dublin City Council hereby accepts the 1996 Retention and Expansion !I II Final Report as prepared by the Ohio State University, and the City of Dublin Retention !I and Expansion Task Force, and, I! il ! il [I ,I II I II I I I II Ii I . That Dublin City Council hereby accepts the four recommended implementation strategies contained within the report and authorizes staff to bring before Council such additional legislation as may be necessary to carry-out the general intent of the recommendations contained therein. Council advised this direction at their last Council meeting. Council did not wish to accept the report until it was officially presented to the Community, which was done at the breakfast held on February 23, 1996.
