A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACT AS THE CITY'S OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO FILE APPLICATION AND
ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO PUBLIC
WORKS COMMISSION FOR THE PUPOSE OF ACQUIRING
GRANT FUNDS THROUGH THE STATE CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMlLOCAL TRANSPORTATION
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE
RINGS ROAD BRIDGE OVER 1-270
WHEREAS, the City has adopted the 2000-2004 five-year Capital Improvement
Plan, and the City has included the Rings Road Bridge Over 1-270 project in the five-
year Capital Improvement Plan; and
WHEREAS, this project has been approved by the Ohio Department of
Transportation as a cooperative project and construction drawings are being finalized;
and
I WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 164.06 ofthe Ohio Revised Code, the District
Three Public Works Integrating Committee has been created to accept, evaluate and
recommend applications for state financing of capital infrastructure improvement
projects of political subdivisions in Franklin County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has conducted a capital inventory and needs
assessment and has determined that it is necessary to submit applications for financial
assistance for capital infrastructure improvement projects.
NOW, THERE~RE' BE IT RESOLVED by the Council, of the City of
Dublin, state of Ohio, of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply to the District
Three Public Works Integrating Committee and the Ohio Public Works Commission for
financial assistance for the following capital infrastructure improvement project:
Rings Road Bridge Over 1-270
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to enter into any
agreements as may be necessary and appropriate for obtaining this financial assistance in
conjunction with the recommendations of the City of Dublin, and approved as to form by
the City Law Director, in accordance with all authority granted to and limitations upon
by the City Director of Finance.

Re: Resolution for SCIP/L TIP Grant Application
Attached is a resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit grant applications to the Ohio Public
Works Commission for the 2000 State Capital Improvement Program/Local Transportation
Improvement Program (SCIP/LTIP) in connection with the Rings Road Bridge Over 1-270 Project.
Total construction cost for this project is estimated near $ 3,700,000 dollars. The Ohio Department
of Transportation has agreed to share in the cost of this project and has allocated $ 500,000 dollars
toward construction costs. No right-of-way acquisition is required. OPWC applications are due by
October 12, 1999.
