A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND
BEST BID FOR THE SANITARY SEWER LINING
PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding have been conducted,
pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter and Chapter 37 of the Dublin Code,
for the lining of approximately 14,000 linear feet of sanitary sewers; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Kokosing
Construction Company in the amount of$294,854.00 is the lowest and best bid.
NOW, THEREF1, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. The base bid submitted by Kokosing Construction Company, Inc. in the
total amount of $294,854.00 for the Sanitary Sewer Lining Project is hereby accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
Kokosing Construction Company, Inc. for the bid project described above, and as
specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file within the
Department of Finance.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force in accordance with
Section 4.04 (a) of the Revised Charter.

Re: Resolution 60-06 - Sanitary Sewer Lining Project Bid Acceptance
Summary
On Thursday, June 22, 2006 bids were opened for the Sanitary Sewer Lining project. The
estimated cost was $410,000.00. Staff petitioned fourteen prospective bidders and the following
five bids were received:
. Kokosing Construction Company, Inc. $294,854.00
. American Water Services $369,166.00
. Instudiform Tech. $373,981.44
. United Survey $377,500.00
. Reynolds Inliner $450,348.48
This project consists of lining approximately fourteen thousand linear feet of clay sanitary sewer
pipe in the area of SR 161 between Riverside Drive and Sawmill Road. This pipe is in need of
substantial repair to reduce or eliminate the amount of inflow and infiltration into the sanitary
sewer system during rainfall.
Once this is done, an additional $60,000 to $80,000 is budgeted for the second phase of this
project that consists of lining approximately seven linear feet of each lateral pipe connected to
the main sanitary pipes to be lined as part ofthis project.
Kokosing has completed work for the City of Dublin in the past. Their performance has been
satisfactory.
Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of Resolution 60-06 at the July 3, 2006 Council meeting, accepting
Kokosing Construction Company, Inc.'s base bid in the amount of $294,854.00 and authorizing
the City Manager to enter into a contract with Kokosing Construction Company, Inc. for this
project.
