VILLAGE OF DUBLIN, OHIO , AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SAFETY DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH OTHER FRANKLIN COUNTY POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS AND THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR MUTUAL AID OF POLICE MANPOWER AND EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, it is the desire of certain political sub- divisions in Franklin County to provide for mutual assistance by the interchange and use of their police personnel and equipment within the various territories; and WHEREAS, it is the desire to offer the citizens of the participating political subdivisions the most efficient police protection possible; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Dublin, State of Ohio~of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter into and execute, on behalf of the village of Dublin, Ohio, an agreement with other Franklin County political subdivisions and the County Commissioners either jointly or severally for the interchange of police manpower and equipment. Section 2. That said agreement may provide that no charge shall be made to any political subdivision entering into said contract for services rendered by any other political subdivision. section 3. There shall be no reimbursement to or from the par- ticipating parties hereto for loss or damage to equipment while engaged in services provided for in said agreement nor shall there be any reimbursement for any indemity award or premium contri- bution assessed the employing subdivision for Workmen's Compen- sation benefits arising by reason of injury or death to a member of the police department of said subdivision while under the agreement. Section 4. Said agreement shall be in effect for a period not to exceed three (3) years from the effective date thereof and shall be automatically renewed for successive periods of three (3) years as to all parties executing the same except as to any party which shall withdraw by giving notice of it's intention to with- draw by registered mail to all the other parties to this agree- ment. Section 5. The agreement may contain such other incidental items as may be necessary to accomplish the main purposes thereof. Section 6. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reason that there is an immediate need for an agreement with other Franklin County Political Subdivisions for mutual aid of police manpower and equipment and for the preserv- ation of public peace, health, and safety and shall go into immediate effect.
