AN ORDINANCE ADDING NEW SECTION 73.99 (L)
TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCES INCREASING THE
PENALTY FOR PASSING A STOPPED SCHOOL BUS
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

I I in the interests of the public health, safety and
~ WHEREAS,
welfare of the inhabitants of the Village of Dublin, the present
penalty for passing a stopped school bus in violation of Section
73.28 (A) of the Code of Ordinances is inadequate to deter such
conduct.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village
of Dublin, ~ members concurring, that
Section 1. New Section 73.99 (L) of the Code of Ordinances
be and hereby is enacted to amend the penalty for passing a
stopped school bus in violation of Section 73.28 (A) of the
Code of Ordinances, said new Section to read as follows:
wI",,\ 73.99 (L) Whoever violates Section 73.28 (A) shall be
U fined not more than $500.00, or imprisoned for not more than
six (6) months, or both.
Section 2. That this Ordinance be and the same hereby is,
declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare; therefore,
this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon
its passage.
