A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE MARTIN COMMONS PARK DEVELOPMENT
PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter for the Martin Commons
Park Development Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Janco, LLC in the
amount of $58,760.00 constitutes the lowest and best bid; and
WHEREAS, this is an approved 2010 Capital Improvements Project.
NOW, THEREFQ=, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, L) of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1 . The bid submitted by Janco, LLC in the amount of $58,760.00 is hereby
accepted.
Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
Builderscape, Inc. for said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's
bid documents on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3 . This Resolution shall take effect upon adoption in accordance with
Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Re: Resolution 53 -10, Martin Commons Park Development Project
Background
On Thursday, November 4, 2010 bids were open for the Martin Commons Development Project. The
funds for this project are included in the CIP budget in the amount of $250,000. The base bid
estimate for this project was $95,092.65.
Two (2) bids were received.
Base Bid
Janco LLC $58,760.00
Strawser Paving $67,900.00
The City provided the park furniture and playground equipment at a cost of $28,683.15. This
amount is in addition to the bid portion of this project. In addition, required arborist work for
existing trees will be completed at a cost of 53,510.00.
This project consists of all materials and labor necessary for the construction of bike path,
climbing rock, picnic grove and associated site improvements. Complete construction details are
available for review in the Council Planning room.
A public input forum was held on June 2, 2010 in which the park design was reviewed, changes
made and endorsed by the local residents. The lower base bid estimate, as compared to the
$250,000 programmed, was the result of the changes requested by the residents. This project was
reviewed and approved by the Dublin Planning and Zoning Commission on October 7, 2010.
Recommendation
Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution 53 -10, accepting Janco LLC's base bid of
$58,760.00. Janco LLC has done work for the City of Dublin and staff has found their work to be
most satisfactory.
