AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR TO ADVERTISE
FOR BIDS FOR A NEW SNOW PLOW: lETTING
e FORTH THE SPECIFICATIONS: AND DEClAR-

WHEREAS, the Village is in need of a new Snow Plow:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT. ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of
Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
SECTION I. That the Village Administrator be, and he hereby is,
authorized and directed to advertise for bids for a new Snow
Plow having the following specifications:
The Snow Plow shall consist of a moldboard that is stra i ght,
power reversible and is to be ten ( I 0) feet long with a cutting
swath of ei ght (8) feet when angled to thirty five (35) degrees.
The mo~.board is to be 42 inches high with a built in deflector
to control flow of snow. The plow is to have
eight (8) inch hand-adjusted castors which shall be spring cush-
ioned. The cutting edge or blade shall be one-half (i) inch by
six (6) inches wide by ten ( 10) feet long with punching conform-
~ ' ihg to A.A.S.H.O. standards. Curb shoes shall be provided for
each end of moldboard. A safety trip, spring loaded, sha II be
prov i ded to"protect p I ow by tr i pp i ng and ra is i ng over obstruc-
tions and then returning to normal plowing position. Mo,.dboard
shall be reinforced by six vertical ribs of one-half (i) inch
by three (3) inch steel continously welded, or equal.
Power reversing shall consist of two double-action hydraulic
cylinders of four (4) inch diameter with piston rods no less
than one and on-half (Ii) inches diameter, or approved equal.
These cylinders ~hall be capable of reversing the plow from a
thirty-five (35) degree angle right to a thi~ty-five (35) degree
aD-9I. left and also be capable of holding the plow in any desired
position without the use of pins or ot-her locking device. The
hydraulic power shall be sufficient to change plowing angle
wh i I e the truck is plowing snow at full capacity.
The hitch shall be a front mounted type designed to transmit
plowing forces directly to the truck side rails. Mater i a I shall
be of the proper strength and adequately braced to insure proper
operation. The hitch shall be so designed as to support and
protect a front mounted pump and power take-off assembly. The
B top angle -'~itch shall be of sufficient width to mount snow
plow driving lights. The lower angle of hitch shall be extended
and curved to form a front bumper for truck. A tool box shall
be incorporated in each side of bumper.
The successful bidder shall furnish and install the plow, hitch
and the hydraulic eystem on the Villages's new Dump Truck.
The pump drive as.embly shall be a No:2641 Chel.ea, or approved
equal, heavy duty front mounted cnank .haft driven, speed reducing
type with thro-out mechanism operated by way of a flexible ~.h-
pull control cable located inside of truck cab within .asy access

gine crankshaft flange through a needle bearing universal joint.
The hydraulic pump shall be ~ebster 7YI-4YD56, or approved equal,
heavy duty constant running gear type dual flow with a Minimum
delivery of 25 G.P.M. a* 1500RPM ._d 1000 PSI on high side and
I 5 G PM at 1500 RPM and 1000 PSI on other side.
Contro I val ves sha II be Gressen Mode I 25 C. P. or equal, of sec-
tional balanced spool type with integral relief valve. The
va I ve sha I I have a capacity of 35 GPM with. 1550 PSI relief set~
ing. The va I ve sh.11 have enough sectionrfor plow left, plow
reverse, and dump body. The 25 GPM side of pump sh.11 be plUMbed
from pump to inside of cab to supply power for material spre.der.
The valve s.ctions~hall be mounted in cab between the seats
.nd within e.sy re.ch of driver or rider. No c.ble or remote
controls wi II be .cceptable.
The hydrau lie lines .nd fittings ahall be of adequate size and
strength to accomodate the volume of oil without undue heating
or cavitation. A II high pres.trre hose sh.11 be two-wi re bra i d
reinforced. All hose fittings sh.11 not be of the cl.mp-on

The plow hoist shall be single acting hydraulic ram of not less
than three (3) inches .nd designed to lift plow 12 inch.. from
the ground. The ram piston shall be h.rd chrome plated.
Hydraulic oil supply tank shall be 20 gallon capacity and be
equipp.d withpri",.ry steainer .nd baffle. The tank shall h.ve
a dr.in plug and two and one-half (2t) inch diameter hand remov-

Th. piping of dump body hoist is to be done by the plow supplier.
If the cab floor or sid.s are cut for the installment of lin.s,

Delivery date to be .pecified in bid and must be within sixty

the Village, .nd that this Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force immediately upon its passage.
