That the Village Administrator be, and he hereby IS, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for two (2) new police cruisers, less trade-in allowance on two (2) 1976 cruisers, the new cruisers having the fol lowing specifications: The Cruisers shall l:-e new.1978 models, four door sedans, wheel base not less than 114.0 inches. Color shall be white. SEATS AND UPHOLSTERY: FRONT: Heavy duty springs, cushions and backs, cushions to have foam rubber pads, heavy duty arms for support of seat backs (Fleet model not acceptable). REAR: Stan- O dard as supplied for current models. COVERING MATERIALS: Nylon cloth with vinyl trim, colors to harmonize. Color selection In- formation to be furnished with bids. ENGINE: Sha II be V-8, not less than 400 cubic inches, nor less than 160 h.p. net, four barrel carburetor, dua I exhausts, re- placeable dry element type air cleaner and full f I ow 0 i I filter. AX LES : The front wheel suspension and rear axles are to be of sturdy construction and capable of sustaining the total gross load at ground level without evidence of overloadings. The rear ax I es sha II be of the bevel gear hypoid type and of such design and construction as to be capable of transmitting to the driving wheels the full torque of the engine, as developed through the ~ highest numerical gear reduction provided in the transmission. rhe gear ratio shall be as recommended by the manufacturer and s ha I I be listed with the bid. TIRES: Sha II be high speed, police high performance fabric belted radials, mounted on a 6" safety rim. One spare tire and wheel sha II be provided with each vehicle. Special certified police calibrated speedometer with 2 mph graduat i on s. 7. Heavy duty police type radiator. 8. Manual remote control trunk comparment lock release, with unlocking I ever located within easy reach of driver. 9. High strength windshield glass, a II windows tinted glass. 10. Illuminated trunk light with automatic actuation. I I . Rear window de-f09ger, blower type. 12. Additional dome light over center of front seat, separate switch. 13. Manual control throttle or fast idle device. 0 14. Visible oil, temp., etc. guages (opposed to red light type) 15. Three switches mounted on a plate installed in the space provided for radio, two-way switches with 36" of lead-in-wire 16. One soleniod to activate siren, 36" of 6 guage lead-in-wire. Delivery date to be specified in bids. All bids shall be sealed and shall be filed with the Village Ad- ministrator before 12 : 00 Noon qtAAC.tl ~7 , 1978, at which time said bids shall be opened.
