AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR TO ADVERTISE
FOR BIDS FOR A NEW DUMP TRUCK: SETTING
FORTH SPECIFICATIONS: AND DECLARING AN
~ EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Village is in need of a new Dump truck;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of
Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
SECTION I . That the Village Administrator be, and he hereby IS,
authorized and directed to advertise for bids for a new Dump truck,
cab and chassis with dump body, and having the following specifi-
cat ions:
I . A new one ton Dump truck, 1977 model
2. G.V.W. rating: 6,600 - 10,000 pounds
3. Wheelbase: 130" minimum - 60" cab to axle
4. Front and rear axles; heavy duty - front 3,800 Ibs. minimum
i rear 7,400 Ibs. minimum
5. Springs and shock absorbers: heavy duty
6. Brakes: power brakes - vacuum hydraulic with heavy duty
booster
(J 7. Engine: minimum displacement 350 cu. inch - V-8 4 barrel car-
beurator with dual exhausts
8. Battery: 70 amp hr - heavy duty
9. Alternator: 60 amp - heavy duty
10. Coo ling system: heavy duty type
II. Clutch: I I inch minimum - heavy duty
12. Transmission: 4 speed standard w/P.T.O. outlet for dump bed
13. Fue I system: multiple tanks - factory installed with total
capacity of at least 36 gallons.
14. Windshield wipers: variable speed electric, with window wa-
shers
15 Cab:equipped with all standard equipment and two (2) 6" do-
uble face amber flashers mounted on side of the bed cab
shield. Tail lights to be mounted on Dump bed, angle moun-
ted(to be visible when bed is raised). All lights to have
separate cab switches. Full width seat, deluxe heater and
defroster, o i I-amp-fue I and temperature guages (opposed to
, red- light type)
16. Mirrors: two (2) adjustable rear-view, West Coast type 7"xI6"
one on each side of truck
17. Steering: full power steering
18. Tires: 7:50 x 16 tube type - 8 ply, dual wheels on rear with
0 mud and snow tread and one spare tire and wheel
19. Dump Body: 6'6" wide by 8-0 long, 2 cubic yards with 4" long-
, itudinal structure, 3" cross members, 12 guage stee I . S ha I I
have 13" sides and 19" ends. Direct 11ft 5 ton hoist which
~ be continuous operation type pump, with double acting
tailgate with coal door and chute in center. Latch i ng hard-
ware to be of overshot design (to allow mounting of spreader
box)

21. Color of truck shall be Omaha Orange, black frame and under-
carraige
22. Delivery date should be specified in bid and should be with-
in sixty (60) days after acceptance of bid.

D 24. Rustproofing: truck must be rustproofed by Ziebart or equiv-
elant process before delivery.
25. Any bids varying from specifications should be clearly noted.
All bids shall be sealed and shall be filed with the Village Ad-
ministrator, Village of Dublin, Ohio before 12:00 noon ~ ~.197
at which time said bids shall be opened. All bids sha II be acco-
mpanied by a bond or certified check in the amount of $100.00.
The Counc i I of the Vi Ilage of Dublin reserves the right to reject
any and all bids.
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby . de-

clared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate pre-
servation of the public peace, health and safety for the reason
that a new one-ton Dump truck is presently needed to maintain a
high level of service for the residents of the Village, and t his
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its
passage.
