AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE VILLAGE OF DUBLIN, OHIO, SECTION 73~99 (F)
THEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
LJ Be it, and it is, hereby ORDAINED, by the Council of the Village of Dublin,
Ohio Cp of the elected members concurring:
SECTION 1. That Section 73.99 (F) of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Dublin be amended by deleting therefrom, the following language as it
appears in paragraph l,line 11 thru line 20:
"....provided, further, that when any person is found guilty of a first
offense for a violation of Section 72.01 of the Traffic Code upon a finding
that he operated a motor vehicle faster than 35 miles an hour in the
business district of a municipal corporation, or faster than 50 miles an
hour in other portions, or faster than 35 miles an hour while passing
through a school zone during recess or while children are going to or leaving
school during the opening or closing hours, the court may, in addition to
the penalty herein provided, sentence each offender to the county jailor
workhouse for not more than 5 days."
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance is, hereby, declared to be an emergency
measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace,
health and safety within said Village for the reason that said Ordinance
~ imposes a jail tenn for a relatively minor misdemeanor and it is felt
that this is undue punishment for the crime committed, and that this
Ordinance take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.
