AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE VIL-
LAGE ADMINISTRATOR TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR
T\v 0 ( 2 ) POLICE CRUISERS: ONE FULL SIZE AND ONE

11 TWO (2 ) 1977 CRUISERS AND SETTING FORTH THE

WHEREAS, the Vi I lage IS in need of new pol ice cruisers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Counci I of the Vi I lage of
Dubl in, State of Ohio ~ of the elected members concurring:
SECTION I . That the Vi I lage Administrator be, and he hereby IS,
authorized and directed to advertise for bids for two (2) new 197(
pol ice cruisers, less trade-in allowance on two (2 ) 1977 cruisers
except ONE of the new cruisers having the fol lowing specification :
SEATS AND UPHOLSTERY: FRONT: Heavy duty springs, cushions and
backs, cushions to have foam rubber pads, heavy duty arms for
support of seat backs (Fleet model not accepta Ib e). REAR: Stan-
dard as suppl ied for current models. COVERING MATERIALS: Nylon
cloth with vinyl tr i m, heavy duty, colors to harmonize. Color
selection information to be furnished with bids.
"... ENGINE: Sha II be V-S, not less than 350 cubic inches, nor less
than 160 H. P. net, four barrel carburetor, replaceable dry ele-
~ ment type air clearner and ful I f I ow oi I fi Iter. Top speed capa-
bi I ity must be at least 120 mph, as del ivered. A II Bidders shall
include the EPA estimates on average mi leage for the vehicles
they are submitting for consideration.
FUEL SYSTEM: The fuel system sha II have a gasol ine tank with a
capacity of not less than 20 gal Ions, and a mechanical fuel pump
sha II be furnished.
TRANSMISSION: Sha II be the hydro-matic, Cruise-o-matic, Torque
Flite o~equal 3 speed automatic.
AX LES : The front wheel suspension and rear axles are to be of
sturdy construction and capable of sustaining the total gross
load at ground leve I without evidence of over loadings. The rear
axles shall be of the bevel gear hypoid type and of such design
and construction as to be capable of transmitting to the driving
wheels the full torque of the engine, as developed through the
highest numerical gear reduction provided in the transmission.
The gear ratio shal I be as recommended by the manufacturer and

-.. . TIRES: Sha II be high speed, pol ice high performance, fabric belt-
ed radials, mou nted on a 6' safety rim. One spare tire and wheel
sha II be provided with each vehicle.
WHEELS AND BRAKES: Sha II be 15 inch wheels with power brakes.
Front wheels shal I have disc type brakes.
Limited sl ip differential.
SPRINGS AND SHOCK ABSORBERS: Sha II be equipped with heavy duty
front and rear suspension, heavy duty front and rear shock absor-
bers and heavy stabi I izer bar.

f1"'" ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT: The generator shal I be an Alternator sys-
tem with ammeter. Sha II be heavy duty 60 to 65 ampere output.
f' The sytem sha II be complete with transistorized voltage regulator

Battery sha II be at least 70 amps. Shall be equipped with radio
noise suppression equipment, which shall include suppression type
spark plugs, Wiring, bonding straps, etc.
AIR CONDITIONING: Sha II be factory instal led with vented outlets
in the instrument panel, acceptable for Pol ice Cruiser operation.
STEERING: Sha II be power steering.
LIGHTS: Shall be the manufacturers standard.
All items required by the Federal Safety Regulations shal I be
furnished.
ACCESS OR I ES: Accessories as listed s ha I I be installed:
I . Deluxe steering wheel.
2. Outside mirror, remote control, not to interfere with spot-
light.
3. Left hand spot I ight, pi liar mounted #225 Unity or equal.
,... 4. Conventional radio speaker, factory mounted installed with
i 24" lead-in-wire.
...... 5. Front and rear heavy duty floor mats, fact ory installed.
6. Special certified pol ice calibrated speedometer with 2 mph
graduations.
7. Heavy duty pol ice type radiator.
8. Remote control trunk compartment lock release, with switch
located within easy reach of driver.
9. High strength windshield glass, a II windows tinted glass.
10. Illuminated trunk light with automatic actuation.
I I . Rear window de-fogger, blower type.
12. Additional dome I ight over center of front seat, separate
switch.
13. Visible oil, temp. , etc. , guages (opposed to red light type)
14. Three switches mounted on a plate installed in the space pro
vided for radio, two-way switches with 36" of lead-in-wire.
15. One solenoid to activate siren, 36" of 6 guage lead-in-wire.
SECTION 2. One mid size ~ medium cruiser having the fol lowing
specifications: New 1979 Cruiser mid size or medium, four door
s'edan, wheel base 108 inch minimum and 116 inch maximum. Color
sha II be white.
C SEATS AND UPHOLSTERY: Same as specified for cruiser in Section I .
ENGINE: Sha II be eight cyl inder, with four barrel carburetor not
to exceed 360 cubic inches, heavy duty displacement engine. Vehi -
c Ie sha II be capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph In 12 seconcs
with top speed capabi I ity of 100 MPH. A II bidders shall include
the E.P.A. estimates of average mi leage for vehicle being submitte d.
AX LES : Same as specified for cruiser in Section I .
TRANSMISSION: Same as specified for cruiser in Section I .

Delivery date to be specified in bids.
All bids shall be sealed and shal I be fi led with the Vi I lage Ad-
ministrator before 12:00 Noon , 1979, at which time sai
bids shall be opened. All bids shall be accompanied by bond or
certified check in the amount of $100.00. The Counc i I of the
Vi I lage of Dubl in reserves the right to reject and and al I bids.
A II bids sha II be LESS trade-in allowance with RADIO, RED L I G HTS ,
RADAR, P.A., ETC. , removed from said trade-ins.
