AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR TO ADVERTISE
~ FOR BIDS FOR TWO (2) POLICE CRUISERS,
LESS TRADE- IN ALLOWANCE ON TW 0 (2 ) 1977

WHEREAS, the Vi I lage IS in need of new Pol ice Cruisers;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Counci I of the Vi I lage of
Dubl in, State of Ohio, ~ of the members elected thereto con-
curring:
SECTION I . That the Vii lage Administrator be, and he hereby IS,
authorized and directed to advertise for bids for two (2) new '9~
po lice cru i sers, less trade-in allowance on two (2) 1977 cruiser s,
the new cruisers having the fol lowing specifications:
SEATS AND UPHOLSTERY: FRONT: Heavy duty springs, cushions and
backs, cushions to have foam rubber pads, heavy duty arms for
support of seat backs (Fleet model not acceptable). REAR: Stan
dard as suppl ied for current models. COVERING MATERIALS: Nylon
cloth with vinyl trim, heavy duty, colors to harmonize. Color
selection information to be furnished with bids.
~ ENGINE: Sha II be V-8, not less than 350 cubic inches, nor less
than 160 h.p. net, four barrel carburetor, replaceable dry ele-
...... ment type air cleaner and ful I flow oi I fi Iter. Top speed capa-
b i lit y mu st be at least 120 mph, as de livered. A II Bidders shal
include the EPA estimates on average mileage for the vehicles
they are submitting for consideration.
FUEL SYSTEM: The fue I system sha II have a gasoline tank with a
capac ity of not less than 20 gal Ions, and a mechanical fue I pump
sha II be furnished.
TRANSM ISS ION: Sha II be the hydro-matic, Cruise-o-matic, Torque
F lite of equa I 3 speed automatic.
AX LES : The front wheel suspension and rear axles are to be of
sturdy construction and capable of sustaining the total gross
load at ground leve I without evidence of over loadings. The rear
axles shall be of the beve I gear hypoid type and of such design
and construction as to be capable of transmitting to the driving
whee 1st he fu I I torque of the engine, as developed through the
highest numerical gear reduction provided in the transmission.
The gear ratio shal I be as recommended by the manufacturer and
C sha II be I isted with the bid.
TIRES: Sha II be high speed, police high performance, fabric
belted radials, mounted on a 6' safety rim. One spare tire and
wheel sha II be provided with each vehicle.
WHEELS AND BRAKES: Sha II be 15 inch wheels with power brakes.
Front wheels shal I have disc type brakes.
Limited sl ~p differential.
SPRINGS AND SHOCK A8S0R8ERS: Sha II be equipped with heavy duty
front and rear suspension, heavy duty front and rear shock absor-
bers and heavy stabil izer bar.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT: The generator shal I be an Alternator sys-
f"'-c tern with ammeter. Sha II be heavy duty 60 to 65 ampere output.
The system sha I I be complete with transistorized voltage regula-

tl! tor. Battery sha I I be at least 70 amps. Sha II be equipped with
"- radio noise suppression equipment, which shall include suppressi pn
type spark plugs, wiring, bonding straps, etc.
AIR CONDITIONING: Sha II be factory installed with vented outlets
in the instrument panel, accepta'/e for Pol ice Cruiser operation
STEERING: Shall be power steering.
L I G HTS : Sha II be the manufacturers standard.
A II items required by the Federa I Safety Regulations shal I be
furnished.
ACCESSOR I ES: Accessories as listed sha I I be installed;
I . Deluxe steering wheel.
2. Outside mirror, remote control, not to interfere with spot-
light.
3. Left hand spot light, pi liar mounted #225 Unity or equal.
4. Conventional radio speaker, factory mounted i n st a I led wit h
""... 24" lead-in-wire.
5. Front and rear heavy duty floor mats, factory installed
.... 6. Special certified pol ice cal ibrated speedometer with 2 mph
graduations.
7. Heavy duty pol ice type radiator.
8. Remote control trunk compartment lock release, with switch
located within easy reach of driver.
9. High strength windshield glass, a II windows tinted glass.
10. Illuminated trunk light with automatic actuation.
I I . Rear windoW de-fogger, blower type.
12. Additional dome I ight over center of front seat, separate
switch.
13. Visible oil, temp. , etc. guages (opposed to red I ight type)
14. Three switches mounted on a plate i nsta II ed in the space
provided for radio, two-way switches with 36" of lead-in-
wire.
15. One solenoid to activate siren, 36" of 6 guage lead-in-wire
Delivery date to be specified in bids.
A II bids sha II be sealed and shal I be fi led with the Vii lage Ad-
ministrator before 12:00 Noon ---, 1979, at which time said
,..... bids sha II be opened. A II bids sha II be accompanied by bond or
L certified check in the amount of $100.00. The Counc i I of the
Vii lage of Dublin reserves the right to reject any and al I bids.
A II bids shall be LESS trade-in allowance with RADIO, RED LI GHTS
RADAR, P.A. et c . , removed from said trade-ins.
