AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH HOURS OF WORK, RATES OF PAY, AND OTHER BENEFITS FOR ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENTS I OF THE VILLAGE OF DUBLIN, OHIO, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY 0 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE Council of the Village of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring: SECTION 1. As used in Schedule I "years" shall mean years of service to the 0 Village as a fulltime police officer plus credit for prior service to another law enforcement agency or prior part-time service to the Village of Dublin. In such case the confirmation ordinance shall state the number of years and/or months of prior service which shall be credited to the officer for purposes of determining his salary under Schedule I. SECTION 2. That full-time employees of the Service and Maintenance Departments will be paid according to Schedule II as follows: SCHEDULE II SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE EMPLOYEES (Full-Time) Starting rate CLASS "A" $2.75 to $3.00 per hour After One Year CLASS "B" $3.20 to $3.40 per hour - I t O::::t:>,..t-;t"'In l-ft:>""r'l :11:1 <::':l t:;n -1-1"\ <::':l 7t:; -n"".... }.,,..,,.... I I , ~ ,.- . Head #2 shall be by the Village Administrator with Council approva~. I Employees including Section Heads shall perform such duties as shall be prescribed by and shall work under the direction of the Village Administrator. '.- SECTION 3. That Reserve Policemen shall be paid in ~ accordance with Schedule III as follows: SCHEDULE III - RESERVE POLICEMEN Reserve Policemen shall receive no compensation for the first eight (B) hours of service to the Village each month. Reserve Policemen shall be paid at the rate of $3.00 per hour for service to the Village in excess of eight hours in the month providing that such service is authorized by the Mayor. g~CTION 4. That all part-time or temporary employees of the Service and Maintenance Departments will be paid according to Schedule IV as follows: SCHEDULE IV - PART-TIME OR TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES OF THE SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT All part-time or temporary employees of the Service and Maintenanc~ Departments shall be paid at the rate of $1.75 to $3.50 per hour. : The Village Administrator shall have the right to determine the ~ rate of pay of each part-time or temporary employee within the above range of pay. .... . SECTION 5. That the Clerk-Treasurer shall ln further consideration of their services to the Village, pay the full premium of a bas~c medical and hospitalization insurance policy for the benefit of all full-time employees of the Police Department and the Service and Maintenance Departments. SECTION 6. That vacations with pay for full-time employees of the Police Department and Service and Maintenance Departments will be granted on the anniversary of hire, unless otherwise I approved by the Mayor in the case of Police Department Employees I I I or the Village Administrator in the case of Service and Maintenancf Department Employees. All full-time police officers and full-time employees of the Service and Maintenance Department shall be paid in equal semi-monthly installments on the fifteenth and last day of each month. I I .- All Police Officers and all full-time employees I SECTION 8. ..... 6f the Service and Maintenance Department shall further be entitled to sick leave with pay, but not to exceed one and one-hal days times the number of month's of his service to the Village, and his right to sick leave with pay shAll not accumulate beyond a twelve month period. Sick leave shall not be allowed unless the Employee furnishes a satisfactory statement signed by a physician showing that due to injury or illness the employee was not able to perform his duties on the day in question. Such statement I shall be furnished to the Chief of Police for Policemen and to the Village Administrator for employees of the Servi~e and Maintenance Department. ""... , SECTION 9. All Police Officers shall be subject to call 241 .... hours a day, and the minimum work week for POLICEMAN AND SERGEANTS I I shall be 48 hours per week, and shall be 40 hours per week for CHI~FS. SECTION 10. The regular work week shall be 40 hours, for employees of the Service and Maintenance Departments. Any Employe working overtime shall be given compensatory time off which shall be scheduled by the Village Administrator. In the event an Employ e is discharged before he has received his compensatory time off, he shall be paid for such overtime due, at the rate of one and one-half times his hourly rate. SECTION 11. The employmestof full-time police officers and full-time employees of the Service and Maintenance Department r- shall termmmate on the employee's 65th birthday unless earlier I I \ , " . .. . .#" . - . . That the full-time Police Officers and ,.-\ full-time employees of the Service and Maintenance Department shal~ cc r~ 1 [' ...... continue to be paid at the rates prescribed by prior ordinances until and unless such employee agrees in writing to abide by all of the provisions of this ordinance including retirement at age 65 as required by Section 11. SECTION 14. That all prior ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are superseded by this ordinance. SECTION 15. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public pease, health and safety, for the reason that an Ordinance to establish hours of work, rates of pay and other benefits for full-time employees of the Police and Service and Maintenance Departments is presently needed in the Village, and th t ,... ~ this Ordinance shall go into force and effect upon its pa~sage. -..
