fu~ ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A}ID DIRECTING THE VILLAGE ADliITNISTRATOR TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR A NEW POLICE CRUISER,LESS TRADE-IN ALLOWANCE
ON THE 1970 CRUISER,SETTING FORTH SPECIFICATICJNS: AND DEClJLltING AN
EMERG ENCY .
WHEREAS, the village is in need of a new Police Cruiser;
NO'N,THEREFOR,BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of' the Villa.ge of'Dublin,
state of Ohio, 5' of the elected menibers concurring;
SECT'iON 1. That the Villa'ge Administrator be, and hereby is-, authorized
and directed to advertise for bids for a new Polioe Cruiser having the
following specifications:
The cruiser shall be a new 1973 model, four door sedan. lI'lheel base not
less than 119.0 inches. Color to be specified on the purchase order, but
will principally Vihite .,
SEATS AND U.?HOLSTERY: Front;heavy duty springs,cushions and backs, cushion
to have foam rubber pads, hea~J duty arms for support of seat baoks. (Fleet
model not acceptable) Rear: Standard as supplied for current models. Covering
material: Nylon cloth with Vinyl trim,colors to harmonize. Golor SBlection
information to be furnished with bids.
ENGINE: Shall be V-8 not less than 350 cubic inches, nor less than 160 R .P.
net,Two barrel oarburetor,dual exhausts,replacable dry element type air
cleaner and full flow oil filter. Top speed capability must be at least 120
m.p.h. a~ delivered, using regular fuel.
FUEL SYSTEM: The fuel system shall consist of a gasoline tank,capacity not
less than 20 gallons. A mechanical fuel pump shall be furnished.
TRANSMISSION: Shall be the Hydromatic ,Cruise-O-matic ,Torque Flite or equal
3 speed automatic.
AXLES: The front wheel suspension and rear axles are to be of sturdy cong-
truction and capable of sustaining the total gross load at ground withoUG
evidence of overloadings. The rear axles shall be of tr:o bevel gear hypoid
type a.nd of such design and construction as to be capable of transmitting
to the driving wheels the full torque of the engine, as developed through
the highest numerical gear reduction provided': in the transmission. The gear
rat io shall be as reccommendecl by the manufacture!" and shall be listed with
the bid.
TIRES : Tires shall be tubeless' 855 x l5,Cooper Super Starfire R.P., full
4 ply nylon cord. Shall be mounted on a 6 inch safety rim. One spare tire
and wheel shall be furnished with the vehicle.
SPRING A1~D SHOCK ABSORBERS: Shall be equipped with heavy duty front and
rear suspenlllion,heavy duty front and reat" shock absorbers, and heavy duty
stabilizer bar.
Vr-JEEL A1TD BRAKES: Shall be 15 inch wheels with power brakes,Front wheels
to be disc type brakes.
ELECTRICAL EQUlr>MEl'-l"'T: The generator shall be an Alternator system with
ammeter. Shall be hea~J duty 60 to 65 ampere output and with high output
at idling speed. The system sha.ll be oomplete with transistorized voltage
regulator. Bat.tery shall be not Ie ss than 70 amps. Shall be eq.uipped with
radio noise suppression equipment, which shall include suppresscion type
spark plugs,wiring,bonding straps,etc.
STEERING: Shall be pm'rer steering. "

10. Illuminated trunk light,automatic actuation when trunk is open.
11. Shall be equipped with rear window defogger-blo-uer type.

13. Three mvitches mounted. on a plate ,installed in the space provided for ins-
tallation of a conunercial radio. Two way switches with 36" of 12 guage
lead-in wire to ouch switch.
14. One solenoid to activa-~e siren, witl: 36" of 6 guage lead-in wire.
15. One manual control throttle, or fast idle device.
16. One visitl'J oil guage (opposed to "r"G lightlt type)

the right to reject any and. all bids.
