A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BEST BID FOR
RENTAL OF CERTAIN CITY -OWNED LAND AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AN AGRICULTURAL LEASE FOR SAID PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin owns a 102.5 +/- acre parcel located adjacent to
Darree Fields Park, which generates income to the City if it is leased for
agricultural purposes; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to
protect the value of the property, identified in the attached Exhibit "A," by
entering into an agricultural lease of this property; and
WHEREAS, the previous agricultural lease of this parcel has expired, and staff
has conducted a formal competitive bid process for lease of the parcel; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid of $206.50 per tillable acre
submitted by William and Robert Thomas is the best bid received.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1 . The bid of $206.50 /per acre submitted by William and Robert
Thomas is hereby accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute a one -year lease for the
subject parcel with Mr. William and Mr. Robert Thomas at $206.50 per tillable
acre, with an annual option to renew this lease by mutual consent of the parties
for two, one -year terms beyond the original lease.
Section 3 . This Resolution shall take effect and be in force on the earliest date
permitted by law.

Memo
Background
On Thursday, February 18, 2010, bids were opened for the Cosgray Land Rental. The last
contract price we received for the rental of this land was $156.00 /acre for 2007, 2008 and 2009.
The area is adjacent to Darree Fields and is approximately 102.5 acres in size.
The following two (2) bids were received:
Base Bid Crop
1) Brent E. Hostetler $151.33 /acre com and/or soybeans
2) William & Robert Thomas $206.50 /acre corn and soybeans
Recommendation
Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution 20 -10, accepting the highest bid from William and
Robert Thomas in the amount of $206.50 per acre. This is a one year contract, which the City
can renew annually for up to two years.
