A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND
BEST BID FOR THE AVERY PARK PHASE IV
RENOVATION PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter for the Avery Park Phase
IV Renovation Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Strawser Paving in
the total amount of $341,200 ($279,600 - base bid; $45,900 - alternate #1; $15,700 -
alternate #2) constitutes the lowest and best bid; and
WHEREAS, this is an approved 2010 Capital Improvements Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 4z of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1 . The bid submitted by Strawser Paving in the amount of $341,200
($279,600 - base bid; $45,900 - alternate #1; $15,700 - alternate #2) is hereby
accepted.
Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
Strawser Paving for said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's
bid documents on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3 . This Resolution shall take effect upon adoption in accordance with
Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Re: Resolution 09 -10, Avery Park Phase IV Renovation Project
Background
On Tuesday, January 5` bids were open for the Avery Park Phase IV Renovation Project. The
funds for this project are included in the Capital Improvements Project budget in the approximate
amount of $445,000. The base bid estimate for this project was $366,493.00.

This project consists of all materials and labor necessary to install basketball courts, sidewalks,
site lighting, furnishings, landscaping, grading and drainage. Bid Alternate #1 is for vinyl- coated
fence at field 42, and Bid Alternate #2 is for tree plantings. Complete construction details are
available for review in the Council planning room.
Recommendation
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 09 -10, accepting Strawser Paving's base bid of
$279,600.00. Staff is also recommending bid alternates #1 (cost of $45,900) and #2 (cost of
$15,700) for a total amount of $341,200.00. Strawser Paving has done previous work for the City
and staff has found its work to be most satisfactory.
