BID FOR THE POST PRESERVE PARK PROJECT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES

WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter for the Post Preserve Park
Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Builderscape, Inc. in
the amount of $141,313.00 constitutes the lowest and best bid; and
WHEREAS, this is an approved 2009 Capital Improvements Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, --7— of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1 . The bid submitted by Builderscape, Inc. in the amount of $141,313.00 is
hereby accepted.
Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
Builderscape, Inc. for said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's
bid documents on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3 . This Resolution shall take effect upon adoption in accordance with
Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Background

On Tuesday, December 15th bids were opened for the Post Preserve Park Project. The funds for this
project are included in the CIP budget in the approximate amount of $195,000. The base bid
estimate for this project was $152,680.
Eight (8) bids were received
The City is providing the tables, benches, trash cans, bike rack and playground equipment at a cost
of S57,896.30. This amount is in addition to the bid portion of this project.
This project consists of all materials and labor necessary for the construction of a playground,
seating walls, asphalt entry path, picnic grove, and landscaping. Complete construction details
are available for review in the Council Planning room.
A public input forum was held on July 1P in which the park design was reviewed, changes made
and endorsed by the local residents. In addition, the park design was posted on the City's website
for additional comments and suggestions. This project was reviewed and approved by the Dublin
Planning & Zoning Commission on November 12th.
Recommendation
Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution 03 -10, accepting Builderscape, Inc's base bid of
S141,313.00. Builderscape, Inc. has done previous work for the City and staff has found their work
to be most satisfactory.
