Form No. 30045 Resolartiai No. A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 4.01 ("COUNCIL MEETINGS") OF THE COUNCIL RULES OF ORDER WHEREAS, the existing Council Rules of Order, as approved by Council with Resolution 09-96 and amended by Resolution 87-08, require that Regular Meetings be held on the first and third Mondays of each month; and WHEREAS, Council desires to adjust their Regular Meeting schedule for 2010 to the second and fourth Mondays of the month; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Council Rules of Order in order to provide flexibility for Council in determining the Regular Meeting schedule for each year. NOW, THEREFO , BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1. Section 4.01 ("Council Meetings") of the Council Rules of Order is hereby amended as follows: 47-09 Passed . 20 Regular meetings shall be held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month or on such dates as are otherwise approved on the yearly meeting calendar or by a majority vote of City Council. Meetings shall be convened in the Council Chamber of the City of Dublin at 7:00 p.m., or in an alternate public place within the City of Dublin corporate limits, provided that a public notice shall be posted on the entrance doors of the Municipal Building 24 hours prior to the meeting time. In the event that a regular meeting date of the Council coincides with a legal holiday, or presents a conflict for a majority of members, Council may establish an alternate date, or cancel the regular meeting. The Clerk shall ensure that any cancellation, alternate date or alternate location is published on the City's web site or other generally accepted medium, as designated by Council. Section 2. This amendment shall be submitted and read to Council at the September 21, 2009 Council meeting and acted upon by Council at the October 5, 2009 Council meeting, in accordance with the Section 2.04 of the Council Rules of Order. Per Section 2.44 of the Council Rules of Order, the amendment should have been introduced and then formally acted upon at the following meeting (October 5). Therefore, Council has decided to meet, generally, on the second and fourth Mondays of the month for 2010. The Council Rules of Order, Section 4.01 specifies that: "Regular meetings shall be held on the first and third Mondays of each month." In order to provide flexibility in the future scheduling of Regular Meeting dates, Council would need to amend Section 4.01 as follow-s: Regular meetings shall be held on the ~;,.n+ „r,a +r.:..,a ,~~r„r,a~<,n „~ o,,,.r, ,.,,.,,+i, second and fourth Mondays of each month or on such dates as arc otherwise approved on the ,yearly meeting calendar or by a majority vote of City Council.
