Passed AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 117 OF THE DUBLIN CODIFIED ORDINANCES (TAXICABS) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, the City of Dublin feels that it is no longer necessary to license taxicab drivers that operate within the City limits; WHEREAS, the City believes that the resources used to comply with and enforce taxicab licensing can be better used elsewhere; and NOW, THEI;EFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1. Chapter 117 of the Dublin Codified Ordinances, as an emergency measure by an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the elected and/or appointed members of the City of Dublin Council shall be and hereby is effectively repealed immediately and shall have no further force or effect. Section 2. Whenever the provisions of this Ordinance conflict with any other Ordinance or provision of the Dublin Codified Ordinances, the provisions of this Ordinance shall control. Section 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health or safety of the citizens of the City of Dublin. The reason for such necessity is that the City of Dublin is currently engaged in litigation regarding the provisions contained in Chapter 117 of the Dublin Codified Ordinances. This Ordinance shall therefore be effective upon passage.
