At your request, ove have revieoved the cortrtection behveen the plies ot the flush (4) 9-3/4" x 9-1/4" LVL beam
supporting the cantilevered joist at the Master Bedroom. You indicate that these members are connected with
two (2) rows of 1/2 inch diameter through bolts sQaced at 32 inches on-center. These bolts are located 2
inches from the top and bottom edges of the LVL beam and are staggered. This configuration has an
allowable capacity of 255 pounds per lineal foot (plf) applied to an outside member versus an applied
calculated load of 193 pff. Therefore, the assembly is acceptable as constructed.

Mr. Lieburn:
This letter addresses the installation of our CWB wall bracing product when installed on 2x41oad bearing ar exterior
wa11s. The 2000/2003 International Residential Code states that a stud in this type of wall may be notched to a depth
nat exceeding 25% of its width. For a 2x4 stud, the maxurnam notch depth allowed in load bearing ar exterior wall is
7/8".
The installation instructions in our ctiurent catalog (C-2005) state to cut a saw kaf 1" deep when using our CWB.
When using this product with a 2x4 load bearing ar exterior wall a 7/8" kerf should be used. The leg of the CWB
that is installed into the kaf is less than 7/8" long.
