Mr. Lieburn:
This letter addresses the installation of our CWB wall bracing product when installed on 2x4 load beazing or exterior
walls. The 2000/2003 Intanational Resideptial Code states that a stud in this type of wall may be notched to a depth
not acceeding 25% of its width. Far a 2x4 stud, the maximum notch depth allowed in load bearing or exteriar wall is
7/8".
The installation instructions in aur cuirent catalog (C-2005) state to cut a saw kerf 1" deep when using our CWB.
When using this product with a 2x41oad bearing ar exterior wall a 7/8" kerf should be used The leg of the CWB
tbat is installed into the kerf is less than 7/8" long.

one nail inrto the top plate. Tilt the wall up and plumb before nailing off top
plate, 6ottom plate and studs according to the nailing schedule.
