Dear Mr. Durbin,
I've attached photos of the jack studs and beams located underneath of them
to show support for the weight that is transferred by the ridge beam. I have
been notified by the homeowner that Dublin has performed the original
inspections during the building of the house, and had required the double joist
be situated under the floor where the jack studs fell due to the cantilever.
In addition, we have decided to add 2x8 collar ties in 3 locations 1/3 of the way
down from the peak at equal intervals. This will help to distribute the weight to
the walls, then in turn to double joists under them.
Please call me to discuss ASAP - we would like to continue construction of the
project.
