The fra3rning contractor did not install the blocking between the first floor joist and the top of the foundation when the foundation wall is parallel to the foundation wall. This conflicts with the standard foundation detail prepared by our office for this project site. The site has a walkout condition across the rear of the residence. One side of the foundation consists of a straight wall while the other is jogged near its midpoint. Based upon the site grade sloping downward towards the rear of the residence and the foundation configuration, it is acceptable to omit the blocking indicated in the staandard foundation details.
