CONSTRUCTION FASTENER CERTIFICATION 1999 Ohio Residential Code Section 322.3 Fasteners Fasteners for pressure preservative and fire-retardant- treated wood shall be of hot-dipped galvanized steel, stainless steel, silicon bronze or copper. Exception: One-half-inch (12.7 mm) diameter or greater steel bolts. Because of the corrosive nature of the preservative treatment being used in pressure treated lumber it is imperative that the correct fasteners be used to ensure the structural integrity of the project.
