Fire Alarm System cable and wiring located in noncombustible plenums shall meet with the requirements of Section 907 OBC and Article 760, NFPA 70. 4. Provide a record of completion for each completed fire alarm system in accordance with Section 907.17 and NFPA 72 Completion Documents. 5. Upon completion of the fire protective signaling system, all alarm-initiating devices and circuits, alarm- indicating appliances and circuits, supervisory-signal initiating devices and circuits, signaling line circuits, and primary and secondary power supplies shall be subjected to a 100 percent acceptance test in accordance with NFPA 72A and 72E listed in Chapter 35; Section 907.16 OBC. 6. OBC 907 Acceptance testing: When the installation of the detectors is complete, each detector and all interconnecting wiring for multiple-station detectors shall be subject to a 100-percent acceptance test in accordance with the household fire warning equipment provisions of NFPA 72 listed in Chapter 35. 7. No electrical work (conduits, cables or other electrical apparatus) may be covered or concealed without visual inspection and approval by the electrical field inspector as per OBC 109. 8. The existing electrical conductors, if removed, abandoned, or altered, shall be accomplished to the electrical field inspectors approval pursuant to the requirements of Section 109 OBC. Electrical work found not to meet the code's standards shall be corrected to the electrical field inspector's approval. 9. All electrical work will comply with the requirements of Article 27 OBC and the National Electric Code NFPA 70, OBC approved edition and is subject to the approval of the electrical inspector, in accordance with Section 109 of the OBC. The minimum sound pressure levels shall be: 70 dBA in occupancies in Group R and Group I-1; 90 dBA in mechanical equipment rooms; and 60 dBA in other occupancies. The maximum sound pressure level for audible alarm notification appliances shall be 120 dBA at the minimum hearing distance from the audible appliance. Where the average ambient noise is greater than 105 dBA, visible alarm notification appliances shall be provided in accordance with NFPA 72 and audible alarm notification appliances shall not be required. OBC 901.5 Acceptance tests: All fire protection systems shall be tested in accordance with the requirements of this code and the International Fire Code. When required, the tests shall be conducted in the presence of the code official. All tests required by this code and the standards listed in this code shall be conducted at the expense of the owner or the owner's representative. It shall be unlawful to occupy portions of a structure until the required fire protection systems within that portion of the structure have been tested and approved. 5. No electrical work (conduits, cables or other electrical apparatus) may be covered or concealed without visual inspection and approval by the electrical field inspector as per OBC 109. 10. The existing electrical conductors, if removed, abandoned, or altered, shall be accomplished to the electrical field inspectors approval.
