Resolution 68-23RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS GOVERNMENT FORMS & SUPPLIES 844-224-3338 FORM NO, 30045 68-23 Resolution No. Passed , 20 ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE COSGRAY TO EITERMAN ROAD FIBER INSTALLATION WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter and Chapter 37 of the Dublin Code, for the Cosgray to Eiterman Road Fiber Installation project; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by The Fishel Company on September 13, 2023 constitutes the lowest and best bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, Delaware, Franklin and Union Counties, State of Ohio, lb of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The bid submitted by The Fishel Company in the total amount of $131,469.54 is hereby accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with The Fishel Company for the performance and completion of The Cosgray to Eiterman Road Fiber Installation project pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the City Engineer. Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Resolution and complete the work for this Program. This project consists of building a path along the designed route and connecting one side of Dublink conduit to the other, generally running along the right of way near State Route 161, just west of U.S. Route 33. It is also intended to pull 144 count fiber and splice to complete the Dublink fiber pathway. The location map below indicates general work locations. The Engineer’s estimate for this program is $173,000.00. The budgeted funds for the Cosgray to Eiterman Road Fiber Installation project in the 2023 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) is $173,000.00 from account IT23CO2, Fiber Optic and Traffic Fiber Enhancements. The Fishel Company submitted the lowest and best bid of $131,468.54. Staff has reviewed all bids and a summary of the bids received is listed below. Recommendation Staff has thoroughly reviewed the bid submitted by The Fishel Company. Previous experience with The Fishel Company has been favorable. Staff is confident The Fishel Company will perform well on this project. Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution 68-23 accepting as lowest and best the bid of the The Fishel Company in the amount of $131,468.54 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with The Fishel Company for this project.
