A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITY OF DUBLIN'S
GOALS FOR 2023-2024
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has a long history of engaging in an annual goal setting
process to establish its near and long -term priorities for the community; and
WHEREAS, many of the goals of Council from previous years have become operational
in nature and remain active and guide the actions of both Council and the Administration
in their budgeting, planning and programming initiatives; and
WHEREAS, City Council endeavors to be strategic in its deliberations regarding these
goals so that the current opportunities, needs and challenges facing the community are
fully considered; and
WHEREAS, City Council desires to formally adopt its 2023-2024 goals to help guide the
City in shaping its future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, 1 of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. As a result of the annual goal -setting process, Dublin City Council hereby
adopts the following goals for 2023-2024:
1. Goal1. Become the Most Connected Community in the U.S.
Phase III.· Broadband to the Home Project
2. Goal 2. Realize the Metro Center Revitalization Vision.
Reposition the Metro Center legacy office park by implementing the vision and
goals of the Dublin Corporate Area Plan. Develop a design and implementation
framework that creates a distinctive identi~ encourages dynamic reinvestment
provides a vibrant mix of uses in a walkable environment and promotes
sustainable design principles. Identify opportunities for public and private
partnerships for catalytic projects that transform the Metro Center area
consistent with the framework.
3. Goal 3. Strengthen the Stewardship and Vitality of our Historic
District Core.
Explore dedicated day-to -day management and establish definitive goals on
"what" the Dublin community aim to preserve -environment structures/ era and
architecture. Explore dedicated management and support options and structure
that would allow ''someone" to wake up every day with the focused mission and
tools of delivering on the goals of the district.
4. Goal 4. Develop Dublin's "Destination of Choice" Next-Generation
Community Events Vision.
Develop a local and regional community events program and management
roadmap. Leverage Dublin parks and facilities to create a connecte~
comprehensive/ and fiscally sustainable vision that drives vitali~ engagement
and entertainment.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in accordance
with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Re: Resolution 44-23 – 2023-2024 Council Goals
Background
Attached is Resolution 44-23 related to Council’s April retreat for consideration and adoption.
This resolution is for the adoption of Dublin City Council’s 2023-2024 Goals. These goal statements
were initially discussed by Council during the April 13-14, 2023 Council Retreat and reviewed by
the Administrative Committee on May 2, 2023 and Council during the May 8, 2023 City Council
Meeting and the May 15, 2023 Council Work Session. Feedback was gathered at those times and
changes were made to the goal statements capturing Council comments. Council consensus was
for staff to bring forward the agreed upon goals at the May 22, 2023 Regular Council Meeting for
adoption.
Staff will provide updates to Council regarding the status of the goals on a routine basis.
Recommendation
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 44-23.
