56-07 ResolutionRECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Inc ,Form Resolution No. zo 56-07 Passed A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE AVERY PARK PHASE TWO BALL FIELDS PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES. 1 1 WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter for the Avery Park Phase Two Ball Fields Project; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by Watson- Shonebarger General, LLC in the amount of $329,330.00 constitutes the lowest and best bid; and WHEREAS, this is an approved 2007 Capital Improvements Project. NOW, THEREFO E, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The base bid submitted by Watson-Shonebarger General, LLC in the amount of $329,300.00 be, and hereby is, accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space. Section 3. Brautigam, City Manager DATE: August 16, 2007 INITIATED BY: Fred Hahn, Director of Parks & Open Space RE: Resolution 56-07, Avery Park Phase Two -Ball Field Project Summary On Tuesday, August 7, 2007 the bids were opened for the Avery Park Phase Two Ball Field Project. The budget for this project is $450,000. The funds for this project are included in the 2007 Capital Improvements Program. The estimate for this project was $389,000. Two (2) bids were received: Base Bid Watson-Shonebarger General, LLC $329,330.00 Strawser Paving Company $458,775.00 This project consists of the demolition of existing ball fields, tennis courts and paved areas and construction of new little league ball fields and associated site work, including fencing, hardscape and landscaping. Complete construction details are available for review in the Council Planning room. Staff has checked references for Watson-Shonebarger General, LLC and has found their references to be satisfactory. Recommendation Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution 56-07, accepting Watson-Shonebarger General, LLC's base bid of $329,330.00.
