Resolution 12-21 To: Members of Dublin City Council From: Dana L. McDaniel, City Manager Date: February 24, 2021 Initiated By: Matt Earman, Director of Parks & Recreation Shawn Krawetzki, Landscape Architect Manager Re: Resolution 12-21 2021 Central Landscape Maintenance Contract Bid Acceptance Background The Central Landscape Maintenance Contract was bid and contracted with Environmental Management Inc. in 2020, with an optional renewal period. As part of the evaluative process to ensure appropriate performance, it was determined that the Central Contract Maintenance contractor, Environmental Management Inc. was issued over 150 notices to complete unperformed work. As such, staff did not renew the contract with Environmental Management Inc. and rebid this contract to ensure that the expected levels of maintenance would be attained. Funding for the City’s Central Landscape Maintenance is included in the 2021 Operating Budget in the amount of $210,000. On February 17, 2021, bids were opened for this contract. Three (3) bids were received with the lowest of these bids being $217,440.00 from Five Seasons Landscape Maintenance Inc. Collectively, all of the maintenance contracts combined are within the 2021 budgeted funds. Bids for this contract also provided unit costs for any additional emergency repair work, mulching, or mowing as directed by the City to maintain the appropriate appearance levels. Recommendation Five Seasons Landscape Management Inc. has provided services for the City of Dublin in the past and staff has found their work to be acceptable. Staff recommends adoption of Resolution xx-21, accepting the lowest and best bid by Five Seasons Landscape Management Inc. din the amount of $217,440.00.
