A RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN CITY-OWNED
PROPERTY AS SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DISPOSE OF SAID PROPERTY IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 37.08 OF THE DUBLIN
CODIFIED ORDINANCES
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin possesses certain fleet and equipment assets used in
the performance of its daily operations; and
WHEREAS, certain fleet and equipment assets have reached the end of useful life for
City purposes; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City should maximize the return on
investment by selling these assets,
NOW, THERE~RE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The Council of the City of Dublin hereby declares the property listed in
Exhibit "A" as surplus and authorizes the City Manager to properly dispose of said
property in a manner consistent with Section 37.08 of the Dublin Codified Ordinances.
Section 2. This Resolution shall be effective upon passage in accordance with
Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Re: Resolution 48-07, Authorizing the City Manager to Dispose of Certain
Property Declared as Surplus.
Summary
Resolution 48-07 authorizes the City Manager to dispose of vehicles determined to be no
longer useful to the City. These vehicles are listed on Exhibit A. Section 37.08 of the
Dublin Codified Ordinances requires prior legislative authorization far disposal of any
motor vehicle.
The vehicles will be sold by Internet auction, as approved in Resolution 13-07. Bidding
for this equipment will open in early July, and remain open far two weeks as required by
Section 37.08 of the Dublin Codified Ordinances. We will notify all previous purchasers
of City vehicles through live auction, as well as most who participated in previous
auctions. A link exists on the City's website to take customers directly to the auction
website at www.GovDeals.com. A promotional campaign will also be conducted, in
conjunction with GovDeals, to help generate public awareness and interest.
Under the terms of the City's agreement with GovDeals, the City will pay a commission to
GovDeals of 7.5% of sale proceeds; however, the City will incur no cost unless the items
are sold. The GovDeals site is well-known among public entities, and ideally will provide
a much broader pool of prospective buyers for City surplus items. We conducted an
online auction of surplus vehicles in 2006 through this website and sold 16 vehicles for
net proceeds of $99,100, after commissions.
Recommendation
Staff is recommending passage of Resolution 48-07.
