A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING
THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE
2019 PARKING LOT MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter and Chapter 37 of the
Dublin Code, for the 2019 Parking Lot Maintenance Program; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Chemcote, Inc.
constitutes the lowest and best bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
of its elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The bid submitted by Chemcote, Inc. in the total amount of
$298,784.70 is hereby accepted.

Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with
Chemcote, Inc. for performance and completion of the 2019 Parking Lot Maintenance
Program pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said
project on file in the office of the City Engineer.
Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the
Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate
officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to
take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Resolution and
complete the Project.

AV March 20, 2019f (4) bids were received, publicly opened, and read by Engineering staff for th;;m
2019 Parking Lot Maintenance Program. The attached map depicts which parking lots are in the
program. A copy of the construction drawings has been placed in the Council Planning Room for
your reference and review.
The Engineer"s estimate for this project is $335,000. The budgeted funds for this Parking Lot
Maintenance Program in the 2019-2023 Capital Improvement Program are $335,000 from account
AT197.
Chemcote, Inc. submitted the lowest and best bid of $298,784.70. Staff has reviewed all bids and a
summary of the bids received is listed below.

Stat� has thoroughly reviewed the bid submitted by Chemcote, Inc. Previous experience with
Chemcote, Inc. has been favorable, including the 2018 Parking Lot Maintenance Program.
Additionally, Chemcote has performed asphalt paving on numerous subdivision streets constructed
within new residential developments that have then been accepted as public improvements by the
City.
Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution No. 20-19, accepting as lowest and best the bid
of Chemcote, Inc. in the amount of $298,784.70 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a
contract with Chemcote, Inc. for this project.
