A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE
2018 STORM STRUCTURE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter and Chapter 37 of the
Dublin Code, for the 2018 Storm Structure Maintenance Program; and
WHEREAS, the adopted Community Plan states an objective to provide safe and
efficient collection of stormwater; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Strawser Paving
Company, Inc. constitutes the lowest and best bid.
NOW, THE EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, of its elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The bid submitted by Strawser Paving Company, Inc. in the total
amount of $221,613.60 is hereby accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with
Strawser Paving Company, Inc. for performance and completion of the 2018 Storm
Structure Maintenance Program pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and
Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the City Engineer.
Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager,
the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate
officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to
take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Resolution and
complete the Project.

2018 Storm Structure Maintenance ProgramAcceptance
The Engineer's Estimate is $250,000. The funds budgeted for this program are $260,000 from
the Annual Stormwater Maintenance capital funds ($575,000 in AF181 for 2018). The remaining
$315,,000 are allocated for the 2018 Stormwater Maintenance Program, which was bid and
awarded earlier this year (February).
Strawser Paving Company, Inc. provided the lowest and best bid of $221,613.60. Staff has
reviewed all bids and a summary of the bids is listed below.

This 2018 Storm Structure Maintenance Program will commence in September and is expected
to be complete by November 30, 2018. A map is attached showing the work locations in
various areas throughout the City. Staff will ensure that appropriate traffic control and site
restoration are performed as necessaryX
StaN has reviewed the bid submitted by Strawser Paving Company, Inc. and determined it to be
a true and accurate cost to perform the specified work for this project. vrevious experience
with Strawser Paving Company, Inc. has been favorable, including the 2017 Storm Structure
Res. 42-18 - 2018 Storm Structure Maintenance Program — Bid Acceptance

Maintenance Program. Other recent projects include: multiple annual Street Maintenance
Programs (2013, 2014, 2015 [Part 2], 2016, 2017, 2018) and multiple annual Parking Lot and
Shared -Use Path Maintenance Programs (2015 and 2016). City staff has been satisfied with the
performance of Strawser Paving Company, Inc. and the quality of their completed work.
StaN recommends Council approval of Resolution No. 42-18, accepting as lowest and best the
bid of Strawser Paving Company, Inc. in the amount of $221,,613.60 and authorizing the City
Manager to enter into a contract with Strawser Paving Company, Inc. for this program.
