A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE COFFMAN PARK PLATFORM TENNIS PROJECT
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PROJECT.

WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter, for the Coffman
Park Platform Tennis Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid in the amount of
$338,880.00 submitted by Total Platform Tennis LLC is the lowest and best
bid; and
WHEREAS, this project was programmed in the 2017 CIP; and
WHEREAS, funding will be available in the Capital Improvements Tax Fund.
NOW, THEREFO E, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The base bid in the amount of $338,880.00 submitted by Total
Platform Tennis LLC is hereby accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
Total Platform Tennis LLC for the Coffman Park Platform Tennis Project as
specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on ale in the
Department of Parks &Recreation.
Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City
Manager, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or
other appropriate officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements
and instruments and to take any other actions as may be necessary to
implement this Resolution and complete the Project.
Section 4. This Resolution sha take effect and be in force upon passage in
accorc�nce with Section 4.0 a) of the Revised Charter.

Re,: Resolution 50-18 - Coffman Park Platform Tennis Bid Acceptance
Funding for Coffman Park Platform Tennis Project was included in the 2017 CIP budget in the
amount of $300,000. Originally slated to be bid out in the fall of 2017, the design documents had a
few issues that needed to be worked out with our City of Dublin Department of Building Standards
E -Plan review. This pushed the bidding of the project into FY2018.
Platform tennis courts have a very specific construction type and there are only a» contractors
across the country with the expertise and experience necessary to perform the work adequately.
Total Platform Tennis LLC is one of the three major contractors, has a reputable history with
similar -type projects and is contracted for these jobs around the country as stated below in their
qualifications.
Total Platform Tennis is the largest platform tennis court construction company in North America
and is the ""Official Court Builder for the 2014,, 2015, 2017, and 2018 APTA Men's an#

In the past 18 months,
they have constructed 50 new courts and provided maintenance and other construction services ti
over 100 clubs in the United States and Canaiiia.
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 50-18,, accepting the complete base bid of $338,880.04,"
by Total Platform Tennis LLC. This will provide Coffman Park with a single platform tennis court
with planned space to add up to an additional two courts in the future.
