Resolution 031-18RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Dayton Legal Blank, Inc., Form No. 30045 Resolution No. 31-18 Passed A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE WATERLINE REPLACEMENT — PHASE 4 PROJECT 20 WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter and Chapter 37 of the Dublin Code, for the Waterline Replacement — Phase 4 project; and WHEREAS, the current Community Plan identifies the objective to perform preventative maintenance and improvements to the existing water distribution system as it ages; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Danbert, Inc. constitutes the lowest and best bid. NO THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, of its elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The bid submitted by Danbert, Inc. in the total amount of $460,466.50 is accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with Danbert, Inc. for performance and completion of the Waterline Replacement — Phase 4 project pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the City Engineer. Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Resolution and complete the Project. Section 4. Sweder, P.E,, Civil Engineer II Re; Resolution No, 81.18 —Bid Acceptance for Waterline Replacement - Phase 4 Summary On June 5, 2018, three (3) bids were received, publicly opened, and read by Engineering staff for the Waterline Replacement — Phase 4 project, This project will replace existing 2 -inch or 3 -inch water lines with new 6 -inch ductile iron water lines, including fire hydrants and other associated appurtenances, in six (6) separate locations, The locations are: Dunskeath Court, Springburn Drive, Macewen Court, Balloch Court, Havington Court and Ketchum Court. This work will also include the re -connection of existing residential water services, the installation of six (6) new fire hydrants, and associated milling and repaving of the plan -designated pavement surfaces of these cul-de-sacs affected by the work, For Council's reference, a reduced set of project construction drawings has been placed in the Council Planning Room, The project is scheduled to be complete by November 23, 2018, To keep the residents informed of this upcoming project, direct mailings were sent, a public meeting was held on April 24, 2018 and additional information was made available on the City of Dublin website, All efforts will be made to maintain access to the residences during construction. The City will have a designated Engineering Project Inspector assigned to this project, who will be available to respond to questions and manage access needs at adjacent residences throughout the project. Staff is confident Danbert, Inc, will perform well on this project. Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution No, 31-18, accepting as lowest and best the bid of Danbert, Inc, in the amount of $460,466,50 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Danbert, Inc, for this project,
