A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE 2017 PARKING LOT AND SHARED -USE PATH
MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter and Chapter 37 of the
Dublin code, for the 2017 Parking Lot and Shared -Use Path Maintenance Program;
and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Strawser Paving
Company Inc. constitutes the lowest and best bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
r7 of its elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The bid submitted by Strawser Paving Company, Inc. in the total
amount of $648,736.88 is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with
Strawser Paving Company, Inc. for performance and completion of the 2017 Parking
Lot and Shared -Use Path Maintenance Program pursuant to the Advertisement,
Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the City
Engineer.
Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the
Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate
officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to
take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Ordinance and
complete the Project.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect upon passage in accordance with
Section 4.04(x) of the R v ed Charter.

The parking lots in Coffman Park are required to be worked on after the Irish Festival is complete. Sta
will coordinate with the Schools as well so that the students are informed which lot(s) are available for
their use. The contract has a completion date of October 27, 2017. 11
The budgeted funds for the 2017 Parking Lot and Shared-Use Path Maintenance Program in the 2017
2021 Capital Improvement Program are $310,000 from account AT173, Annual Shared Use Path
Maintenance and $415,000 from account AT177, Annual Parking Lot Maintenance, for a total program
budget of $725,000.

StaN--'has thoroughly reviewed the bid submitted by Strawser Paving Company. Previous experience with-
Strawser Paving Company has been favorable, including these recent projects: multiple annual Street
Maintenance Programs (2013, 2014, 2015 (Part 2), 2016 and 2017) and multiple annual 2016 Parking
Lot and Shared-Use Maintenance Programs (2015 and 2016).
Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution No. 45-17, accepting as lowest and best the bid of
Strawser Paving Company in the amount of $648,736.88 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into
a contract with Strawser Paving Company for this project,
