Resolution 013-17RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Dayton Legal Blank, Inc., Form No. 30045 Resolution No. 13-17 Passed A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE 2017 PAVEMENT MARKING SERVICES PROJECT ,20 WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter and Chapter 37 of the Dublin Code, for the 2017 Pavement Marking Services Project; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Griffin Pavement Striping Inc. constitutes the lowest and best bid. NOW, T"EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, of its elected members concurring that: Section 1. The bid submitted by Griffin Pavement Striping Inc. in the total amount of $124,499.00 is hereby accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with Griffin Pavement Striping, Inc. for performance and completion of the 2017 Pavement Marking Services Project pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the City Engineer. Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Ordinance and complete the Project. Willis, P.E., Engineering Manager - Transportation Timothy Root/ Civil Engineer II Re: Resolution No. 13-17 - 2017 Pavement Marking Services Project On February 21, 2017, three (3) bids were received, publicly opened, and read by Engineering staff for the 2017 Pavement Marking Services project. Staff has reviewed all bids. The Engineer's estimate was $125,000. Griffin Pavement Striping Inc. submitted the lowest and best bid of $124, 499.00. A summary of the bids is listed below. The 2017 budgeted funds for this project are $125,000 and are included in the 2017 Operating Budget. This contract performs the annual long-line pavement marking maintenance program. This work maintains pavement markings such as lane lines and centerlines. This is a one-year contract with an optional renewal period for two additional years. Extension of the contract will be based on the satisfaction of the City Engineer with the service provided by the contractor. StaN has thoroughly reviewed the Griffin Pavement Striping, Inc. bid. Staff has previously worked with Griffin Pavement Striping Inc. as a subcontractor on many of the City's transportation projects and during the 2011 Pavement Marking Services. 1� i Staff recommends approval of Resolution 13-17 accepting as the lowest and best the bid submitted by Griffin Pavement Striping Inc. in the amount of $124,499.00 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Griffin Pavement Striping Inc. for this project.
