23-07 ResolutionRECORD OF RESOLUTIONS 23-07 Resol~tition No. Passed 1 1 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR ROOFING PROJECTS AT SEVERAL CITY FACILITIES AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES. 20 WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Carl T. Johnson, Inc. in the amount of $193,800 constitutes the lowest and best bid. NOW, THEREFjORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~_ of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The bid submitted by Carl T. Johnson, Inc. in the total amount of $193,800 is hereby accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Carl T. Johnson, Inc. for said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon on the earliest date permitted by law. Project Description Replace part of Municipal Building Roof and Replace original building's metal roof facing Emerald install ice uards Parkwa and coverin the ma'ori of the second floor. Install ice guards and gutter at Service Center Ice guards on perimeter of metal room. Gutter on fiont of building over employee entrances. Install ice guards at Justice Center Eastern most side of building and over south man-door exit. Replace roofs at North Pool Replace the 25 year old roof on the concession stand, pump house and main administration locker room facility. The total amount budgeted for these projects is $213,000. Four bids were received with the lowest and best bid being submitted by Carl T. Johnson, Inc. Company Bid Carl T. Johnson, Inc. $193,800 Pete Miller, Inc. $224,958 Quality Masonry Co., Inc. $238,000 M. Smith Roofing, Ltd. $272,500 The North Pool roofing project is scheduled to run from mid-April to mid-May, prior to the opening of the pools. The Municipal Building roofing project will be completed by July 20 to avoid any impact on the Irish Festival. Recommendation Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 23-07 accepting the Carl T. Johnson, Inc. bid of $193,800.
