Re: Resolution 18-07 -Bid Acceptance -Pavement Marking Services Project

Pavement Marking Project. Staff has reviewed all bids. The Engineer's estimate was
$95,000. A&A Safety, Inc. submitted the lowest and best bid of $62,376.30. The
budgeted amount for the Pavement Marking Project is $100,000.00. A summary of the
bids is listed below.
Bidder Bid as Read Bid as Read Corrected Bid

A&A Safety, Inc. $62,376.30 -34.3% No

A&A Safety, Inc. has not previously worked as a contractor for the City of Dublin.
Therefore, five (5) references were contacted. The references revealed that A&A Safety,
Inc. preformed high quality work in a timely manner, staying within budget. They
maintained proper work zone safety practices and were flexible with scheduling. A&A
Safety, Inc. has been a vendor of safety equipment for the City of Dublin for some time.
They have a satisfactory history with us as avendor, and staff has no reason not to allow
them this opportunity to prove themselves as a contractor on this project.
Staff recommends A&A Safety, Inc. be awarded the contract for one year. This contract
contains a clause that provides the City the ability to evaluate the work at the end of the
first year. Based on that evaluation, we can either end the contract or extend the contract
for an additional 2 years.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends Council adopt Resolution 18-07 accepting the bid of A&A Safety, Inc.
